The Tehama County Aviation Association voted to cancel the End of Summer Fly-In Cruise-In scheduled to take place at the Red Bluff Airport on Sept. 25.
During this extreme fire season the Red Bluff Airport has been used by the U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire as a base of operation for helicopters fighting the many fires in Northern California.
There is no clear timeline for the helicopters to end their operation at the airport and the Fly-In Cruise-In might interfere with the operation. The upsurge in COVID-19 cases and the new restrictions expected to be mandated by state and local governments, was also taken into consideration.
Tehama County Aviation Association is committed to continue with the End of Summer Fly-In Cruise-In at the Red Bluff Airport next year.
