Cut-price private jets are being introduced to the UK with the creation of an Uber-style network for luxury travel.
Passengers will be able to book a seat in a jet for a fraction of the price of hiring a plane as part of the service with the hope of capitalising on a boom in demand for private flights.
Hyer Aviation, a Dutch charter company, will start its operation from Biggin Hill in London and Farnborough in Hampshire next month. It is modelled on the minicab service UberPool, which matches passengers with a destination, allowing them to share cars and spread the cost.
Demand for private jets has increased during the pandemic because of the complication of travelling on airliners where coronavirus protocols have been introduced
