Magnetic MRO signs deal with Avioparts: Magnetic MRO announced it has signed a consignment stock agreement with Avioparts. The agreement covers the supply of ATR tires, allowing Magnetic MRO Wheels and Brakes workshop to achieve the delivery of tires and its components required for the maintenance within the minimal time-frame, thus optimising the maintenance time. “We have already been working closely with Avioparts for a few years thus the recent agreement is a step further in our partnership with them – and we are thrilled to start this new chapter as we are always striving to optimise our supply chain and stock management across the company. I am positive this partnership will be beneficial not only to both parties but to our customers also as it will increase tire maintenance effectiveness and provide superior service to flight operators,” said Kaarle Karp, head of Supply Chain at Magnetic MRO.

airbus-posts-loss-in-q1-as-company-faces-gravest-crisis-the-aerospace-industry-has-ever-knownAirbus joins DAX stock exchange index: Airbus has become a member of the new DAX40 index in Germany. “We are very pleased to be appointed to the newly formed DAX. We believe that Airbus has found its place in this index due to its economic size and performance. This inclusion allows us to better represent Airbus’ historic industrial significance in Germany and highlight our innovative and diverse portfolio of activities too,” said Guillaume Faury, Airbus CEO. “The inclusion in Germany’s most important stock market index is both a motivation and a responsibility to continue our strong strategic presence in the country. We are proud of our European roots.” With this inclusion in the DAX40, Airbus will no longer be a member of the MDAX, to which it has belonged since the listed European aerospace group was founded in 2000.
AAR awarded US$41 million deal by NNSA: AAR has been awarded a firm, fixed price contract by the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) for the conversion and delivery of a B737-700 aircraft modified into a “FlexCombi” configuration. “AAR is once again honoured to provide increased airlift capability to the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration,” said Jay Pereira, AAR vice president of Government Programs. “We are proud to support this critical mission with a high-quality product at a very competitive price.” With this acquisition, the NNSA will increase its fleet size to support mission critical activities to maintain the safety, security and effectiveness of the United States’ nuclear deterrent capacity. The FlexCombi configuration gives the NNSA the ability to quickly configure the aircraft between passenger and/or cargo modes, serving ever-evolving mission requirements. Work will commence immediately and be completed within 12 months.
Volotea extends deal with AAR: AAR said it has extended its power-by-the-hour (PBH) component support contract with Volotea. The partnership started in 2016 with four A319 aircraft and the fleet has grown now to nearly 40 aircraft today. The agreement includes the positioning of Main Base Kits at Volotea’s operating bases throughout Europe, access to AAR’s component pool inventory from logistic centers in Europe and the management of the component repair cycle. “Following a selection process that prioritised value and reliability, we are excited to confirm AAR as the provider for component services for our fleet of A320 family aircraft. We look forward to having AAR in support of the next phase of our growth,” said Isidre Porqueras, Volotea COO.
Revima signs landing gear deal with S7 Airlines: S7 Airlines (Russian Federation) and Revima (France) have reached an agreement for the overhaul of B737-800 and A320 family landing gear. Revima recently completed the first overhaul under this agreement, with a B737 landing gear delivered from its new Thailand facility. Olivier Legrand, Revima Group president and CEO, said “This major step follows the completion of our brand new, state-of-the-art 11,000 square meter facility south of Bangkok (Thailand) in 2020. Drawing from Revima’s extensive landing gear overhaul experience gained in our French facility, our Thailand based facility was built to support the growing market A320 and   B737NG family landing gear with our recognized top quality and value. We support S7 Airlines for APU repairs and are honoured and proud of their renewed confidence in Revima for landing gear requirements.”
Inmarsat launches OneFI: Inmarsat announced the launch of its new OneFi customer experience platform (CXP) for airlines. The solution will serve as a catalyst to monetise inflight connectivity by bringing a host of onboard services together within a single portal interface, which passengers can easily access using their own personal devices. OneFi delivers a rich airline-branded digital platform to enhance the passenger experience onboard flights.
