VistaJet added flagship Bombardier Global 7500 private jets to its branded fleet in 2020.
The private jet industry is reporting a general state of good news lately: Directional Aviation, which owns Flexjet, Sentient Jet, PrivateFly, and FXAir, has formed a separate SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) to raise additional capital. Membership lift provider Wheels Up is reportedly in talks to do the same after carefully acquiring a number of large charter providers in the past 24 months (including Delta Private Jets). According to the IADA (International Aircraft Dealers Association), pre-owned private jet sales experienced a spike in Q4 of last year (used jet sales are key driver for many segments in the industry). Amid all this positivity, Vista Global, which operates the subscription-based VistaJet fleet as well as the XO on-demand charter provider, has added to this trend. VistaJet, a global business aviation company, reported a 29% increase in new memberships year-on-year; its fastest growth since the service’s launch 17 years ago. Europe accounts for 43% of new VistaJet members; North America, 25%; Asia, 18% and the Middle East, 10%.
XO, the group’s leading on-demand technology platform, recorded a surge in new client memberships of 240% in 2020, with each new customer depositing $100,000 on average.
“We are entering 2021 with optimism and grounded positivity following the unprecedented events of 2020,” company Founder Thomas Flohr said. “It is a pivotal and exciting time in our sector, and I am extremely aware of the critical, growing role private aviation will play as part of the global economy for years to come.”

Flohr started VistaJet in 2004, which operates a fleet of owned Bombardier Global and Challenger jets, all with standardized livery, interior comforts and service levels to ensure flyers always get a consistent luxury experience every time they fly. An international operator from the get-go, the company is headquartered in Malta, with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Dubai. VistaJet aircraft have flown to nearly 200 countries globally, and about 2,000 different airports since starting operation.

Vista Global, the parent company, acquired charter operator XOJet and merged it with the already acquired JetSmarter charter operation in 2019, dubbing the combined operation XO. XO owns Bombardier Challenger 300 and Cessna Citation X jets and also offers access to additional private aircraft via a preferred operator partnership program with stringent safety, performance and service standards.
VistaJet also recently launched an A-to-Z global travel service called VistaJet Private World that offers curated jet-to-suite, jet-to-yacht, jet-to-estate and other bespoke travel services with global partners like hoteliers Four Seasons and Peninsula and yacht charter providers like Camper & Nicholsons.
